As we enter this upcoming election cycle where we will have the opportunity to vote for 3 city council member, I would like to take a moment to share some information about myself and perhaps share a few reasons why you should vote for me to continue serve you as a member of your city council.

I’m a qualified candidate and I have been serving on the city council for almost two years and I served on the Washington City planning commission for 8 years before that. I am a board member for the Washington Area Chamber of Commerce, on the Interfaith Council, a member of the Lions Club, serve in my local church congregation, along with several other volunteer opportunities and ad-hoc service opportunities that arise.
I feel that I have always brought a positive influence to our city and have contributed to the discussions and issues that come before the city council.

PERSONAL LIFE
A little about myself and my family. I was born and raised here in Mesquite, NV and moved to Washington City 19 years ago. Even though I am not "from here", I feel that this is home and my ancestors helped to settle Washington City (John D Lee and his family).

I attended Dixie State College and Dixie State University where I received an Associate's of Science and Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. I continued my education at Southern Utah University where I received an MBA. I am truly blessed to be able to remain here and build a career here all while raising my family here.
My family is amazing. My wife and I have been married for almost 20 years and we have four wonderful children. They attend schools throughout the community and participate in Dixie Prep every summer they can.
MY VISION
My vision for the best Washington City possible is one where residents feel a strong sense of belonging and pride in their surroundings and feel proud to say they are from Washington City.

It is a vision where all residents have a voice in shaping the city's future.

It is a vision that supports a thriving economy to attract businesses that offer great job opportunities while preserving its small-town charm.

The cornerstones of this vision are:
-
Strong community engagement
-
Transparent governance with open dialogue
-
Economic development
-
Conservation efforts
-
Proper Planning for Responsible Growth
-
Fiscal responsibility

With these elements in place, the best Washington City becomes a place where residents can live, work, and thrive in harmony, creating a model community that inspires and sets an example for others to follow.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
I believe that our community's strength lies in the active participation and input of its residents. I want everyone to be able to have an open dialogue, to collaborate, and to exchange of ideas between the city council and our valued citizens. Our community is better when we are informed about upcoming meetings, public forums, and events designed to gather your feedback on important local matters. Everyone's voice matters, and together, we can shape the future of Washington City.
TRANSPARENCY
As a dedicated public servant in Washington City, I prioritize responsiveness to citizen concerns. I understand the importance of actively engaging with residents and addressing their needs and issues in a timely manner. I make it a point to be accessible and approachable, providing multiple avenues for citizens to reach out to me, such as through email, phone, or in-person meetings. When citizens voice their concerns, I listen attentively and empathetically, seeking to understand their perspectives fully. I take their concerns seriously and work diligently to find appropriate solutions or connect them with the necessary resources or departments that can assist them. I believe in transparency and keep citizens informed about the progress made in resolving their concerns. By being responsive, I aim to build trust, foster a sense of community, and contribute to the overall well-being and satisfaction of the residents of Washington City.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
During my tenure on the city council, my interactions with the local government regarding growth and economic development have been characterized by proactive engagement and strategic planning. As a council member, I have actively participated in meetings, workshops, and committees focused on economic development initiatives. By leveraging my experience and expertise, I have provided valuable insights and recommendations on policies, regulations, and investment opportunities that can stimulate growth and attract businesses to our city. I have fostered positive relationships with other government officials, business leaders, and community organizations, collaborating with them to identify and prioritize key areas of development. Additionally, I have advocated for infrastructure improvements and supported business-friendly initiatives to create an environment conducive to economic growth. By actively engaging with local government and stakeholders, I have helped in shaping our city's growth trajectory and ensuring a prosperous future for our residents and businesses.

CONSERVATION
Water conservation and infrastructure planning for water and energy are critical considerations for Washington City's future. As an arid region with limited water resources, it is imperative to implement effective strategies to preserve and efficiently manage this precious natural resource. Water conservation measures can include promoting public awareness campaigns to encourage responsible water usage, implementing strict regulations on outdoor watering, and incentivizing the adoption of water-saving technologies in residential and commercial sectors. Additionally, infrastructure planning plays a crucial role in ensuring equitable water distribution and reducing wastage. This entails investing in modernizing irrigation systems, improving water storage and distribution networks, and exploring alternative water sources such as rainwater harvesting and recycled wastewater. By prioritizing water conservation and infrastructure planning, Southern Utah can safeguard its water supply for future generations while promoting healthy development and resilience in the face of potential water scarcity challenges.

PROPER PLANNING
I want a Washington City that has well-planned neighborhoods that promote a sense of community and personal involvement. I firmly believe in the importance of proper planning for the growth that continues to come to our city is essential. Our city is undoubtedly thriving, and to ensure its continued success, we must carefully manage development. We need to foster responsible growth that balances the needs of our community. By investing in infrastructure, promoting affordable housing initiatives, and supporting local businesses, we can cultivate a vibrant economy that benefits all residents. With comprehensive planning and thoughtful decision-making, Washington City can embrace growth while preserving its unique identity and enhancing the quality of life for generations to come. Let's work together to build a prosperous and resilient future for our beloved city.

FISCALLY RESPONSIBLE
As a dedicated member of the city council, I have consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to fiscal responsibility. Throughout my tenure, I have shown a remarkable ability to make prudent financial decisions that benefit both the city's residents and its long-term economic stability. By carefully examining budget proposals and weighing the potential impact on taxpayers, I have worked with the rest of the city council and staff to successfully implement cost-saving measures without compromising essential services. My proactive approach to financial management has led to reduced wasteful spending, increased transparency, and improved accountability within the council. My fiscally responsible actions have earned the trust and respect of Washington City residents, council, and city staff, who appreciate my dedication to ensuring that taxpayer dollars are used wisely and efficiently to promote the overall welfare of the city.
